market town within an area known
as “The Cotswolds” which was
designated an “Area of
Outstanding Natural Beauty” in
1966.
Chipping Campdens,
High Street is lined with
beautiful buildings dating from
the 14th Century and during the
“Middle Ages” was a rich wool
trading centre.
The Cotswolds offers spectacular
landscapes and picturesque
villages predominantly built in
the historic Cotswold limestone,
which glows with a golden honey
warmth.
The geography of the area is
perfect for cyclists of all
abilities, with its gently
sloping hills, surrounded by
stunning vistas which ensure

Shortly after the Second World
War the government formally
recognised the fact that the
English and Welsh countryside
had such a rich diversity of
scenery it was worthy of
protection. This gave way to
legislation of the “Areas Of
Outstanding Natural Beauty”
designations, conserving these
areas for future generations to
enjoy. |
